Voici un extrait encourageant:

Joss Whedon's ambitious show is now on Fox's good side despite slumping ratings, poor critical reception.
Will Dollhouse return?
Will Dollhouse return?

It's back and forth, back and forth for Joss Whedon's Dollhouse. The sci-fi program has seen its prospects for renewal cover the entire spectrum; it was initially hailed as one of the season's most promising shows, yet failed to become anything close to a ratings hit. But the power of Joss is strong… maybe even miracle strong.

The latest on Dollhouse's future is quite positive, says the The Hollywood Reporter. According to sources, Fox is "leaning toward bringing back" the show, just weeks after its finale brought in the series worst ratings yet.

But the renewal does come with caveats. Fox (like all networks) is asking for some serious budget cuts this go around, and confronted with the choice of having a cheaper show or no show at all, we're guessing Mr. Whedon and star Eliza Dushku will take the former.

Fox will officially announce its fall plans on Monday, so stay tuned for word on Dollhouse.

UPDATED: In a stunning move, sources say Fox will renew Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse” for next fall.

The official announcement will not be made until Monday, but sources say this is happening.

The low-rated Friday night show was last seen given up for dead by the media in a field somewhere.

But its DVR numbers are strong, online streaming is strong. It’s a sci-fi show, which tend to bring in nice ancillary revenue such as DVD sales for sister-company studio 20th TV. And it’s said that Fox execs rather like the series, especially the latter half of the season. Besides, a show airing in the fall on Fox is a bit like running in midseason on most networks -- it’s not their strongest part of the year and maybe ... maybe ...

All right, fine.

A “Dollhouse” pickup is a shocker, an underdog comeback that blows away NBC’s will-they-or-won’t-they hand-wringing over “Chuck” (psst, they almost certainly will). The move is tough to explain based on the show's ratings. In fact, "Dollhouse" might very well be the lowest rated in-season drama to ever get a renewal on a major broadcast network. Almost certainly if based on where the show concluded -- a 1.0 among adults 18-49.

For Fox, this means the network gets to boost that it's bringing back all three of its new dramas this season -- "Fringe," "Lie to Me" and "Dollhouse."

And along with NBC renewing "Friday Night Lights" and strongly considering "Chuck," and the CW stations considering bringing back "Reaper," there's a shift this season toward networks looking beyond live viewing ratings when considering shows with passionate fanbases. Cult TV shows this season have been creatures in a George Romero movie; you can never trust that they're dead.

Sources say Fox received some serious budget concessions from 20th TV and Whedon to continue the show with 20th now shouldering a greater portion of the load.

Fox also plans to continue airing the show on Fridays. More to come...

C'est clair que c'est une bonne nouvelle. Autant au début j'avais du mal à rentrer dans l'univers mais à partir du 6 ou 7ème épisode j'ai commencé à vraiment apprécié :D
